Iris and Grass Flumes |
I have been learning about light. It was a factor in both of these images. The Blueflag Iris grows around the pond at Gorman. This was a morning shot with the light on the flower and the pond, background, in shade. It created a coloration that decorators love!
The grass is Eulalia Grass. We have only a few plants at Gorman. I think that it is a common landscaping plant. The seeds and "parachutes" form in early November. This clump is located such that the sun hits the flumes while the background is in shade. I used a long lens which causes the background to be blurred. I love the way the light on the grass makes it jump off the print in a pleasing golden hue. A must see!
