Unknown Mushroom

I found this one growing behind a dead tree trunk which stands 20-30 ft. tall.  I think it looks enough like and inky cap that I would call it that except it has no ring on the stalk.  Any suggestions?

I found this fungus growing on stem stem of a sticker plant if my memory serves.

This project is nearing completion.  It has been major for Larry's Images.  I must say that I enjoyed it.

Kisling South Barn and Granary

Keith called me one afternoon recently saying that he wanted two prints of his farm.  He wanted me to execute them while the trees were at their prime.  I made several of each location so he could decide what he likes.  I think things look lovely.
