Effect of the Polarizing Filter

I saw this scene earlier in my walk.  It was behind tall prairie grass and I could not get high enough to shoot it.  I finally found a perspective though the light ad changed.

Both of these are HDR series shots.  The second one has the Circular Polarizor added.  I notice better saturation in the trees and sky.
