Unknown Grass, AKA Turkey Foot

This grass is Andropogan gerardii, Big bluestem.  It is a prairie grass introduced at Gorman since the

plains of Western Ohio extend to the edge of Gorman.

The inflorescence resembles a turkey foot.  You can see the actual blooms on this image and a closerlook reveals tiny bees pollenating them.

This is a plant for which I have learned not only its common name but is scientific name.

Pyromorphite is a mineral with the formula, Pb₅(PO₄)₃Cl.  It sometimes has enough lead in it to be mined for the lead ore.

This sample from Phoenix Mine, Phoenixville, PA displays the property of the crystals to form as a hexagonal prism terminated in the basal plane
