Free Screen-savers for the Nook!

Free Nook Screen-savers
I recently purchased a Nook by Barns & Noble at the behest of my son and daughter.  I chose Nook because I can borrow books at the library and read them on it.  Of course, I would want to personalize it with my own images.  I just finished putting these into it.  You put them into the screen-savers folder but you must put in that folder a folder to contain the images.  If you happen to own a Nook or know someone who does, please direct them to my website where they can download them free.  I am requesting name and e-mail address as a condition of download, after all, I am promoting my brand.

A Word About this E-mail
This email is being sent as a sample for your consideration.  This is a blog so you must subscribe to the feed if you want to continue to receive each day's comments and image.  If you do not wish to receive them, simply send e-mail to larry@larrysimages.com with the word "unsubscribe" in the subject line.  You can subscribe tho the feed by putting the feed address listed below into a "reader."  Google has one but there are others.  I do change the addresses to which I send the e-mail sample from time to time, so if you want to continue to read you should subscribe.  Subscription is free.

Light

Light's Effect
I saw this shot the other day.  It reminded me of our discussion about light being all important in photography.  I would not have taken a second look at this subject had the light not been special.  The cloudy background added to the "specialness" of this image.  It draws my attention and admiration, I think, wholly because of the light.

Feel free to post comments.  Look for the link at the bottom left.  Your comments can be posted with this blog.

Mushrooms grow on downed trees.

Dryad Saddle Mushrooms
Some mushrooms grow on downed trees.  Many trees fell several years ago when we had the big ice storm.  This tree trunk is enormous and supports the growth of the Dryad Saddle Mushrooms.  I have a Peterson Field Guide, Mushrooms.  It says this mushroom is edible but that one should eat only the young tender ones.  I am not 100% sure of my ID so don't eat any mushrooms based on my comments.  I get the same feeling of being close to the log and mushrooms when looking at this image as I did the day I made it.

Fog in the Forest.

Forest Fog
We had an ice storm in Mansfield several years ago.  It was a bad one and it took down many trees in the forest.  There is still kinetic energy in trees that where bent and did not break.  I thought that this one provided an interesting element for an image, especially with fog in the background.

Clouds

Clouds 1460_4132
Alfred Stieglitz called them Equivalents but I just call then Clouds.  I was at the pond at Gorman Nature Center and decided to wait through sunrise.  Sunrise was delayed because of clouds.  I had setup on a scene for a landscape shot.  While I waited, I watch the moving clouds.  They were beautiful!  I should decide to wait more often!!
