Wulfenite Yield Images

wulfenite_mafimi_durango_mexico
This is some output using the setup under Wulfenite III, January 14, 2019.  The Amoyca 2011 is the two pictures at the bottom.  I have this image listed in my database as being good enough that it may be printed.

Amoyca 10X Objective
The Amoyca 2011 objective is not what is called a PLAN objective.  If you look closely at the image at the top you might notice that it goes soft on the edges.  That is caused by the objective projects in image on the sensor which is not flat as the sensor is flat.  It is more bowl shaped.  An objective corrected for PLAN projects an image onto the sensor that is flat like the sensor and does not go soft at the edges.

My records show this to be 7.43X on the sensor.

To Photograph Small Things

Swift Microscope with Canon Camera Mounted
I tried to use this rig several years ago.  I produced some images but don't know about the Field of View.

Queen Ann's Lace Seed
At the time I was still working in the field which was mostly Gorman Nature Center.  I failed to achieve a frame filling image as you can see.

I had the problem of the camera being too heavy for the microscope to support.  I only worked on it when I had nothing else pressing.  Now days, I have nothing else pressing and so I can work on it more.

In the late 70's when my youngest daughter was sick, I wanted to be able to photograph the family.  My old Voightlander 35mm viewfinder camera had ceased to work and could not be repaired.  I purchased a Mamiya 35mm and included the accessory of extention tubes.  I kind of got busy photographing the family and didn't have time to experiment with them much but my interest in "photographing small things" goes back to then.
