Orange Calcite

Orange Calcite
Calcite is a carbonate mineral and the most stable polymorph of calcium carbonate (CaCO3)....
....It has a defining Mohs hardness of 3, a specific gravity of 2.71, and its luster is vitreous in crystallized varieties. Color is white or none, though shades of gray, red, orange, yellow, green, blue, violet, brown, or even black can occur when the mineral is charged with impurities.....

Wikipedia

This shot shows its vitreous luster.  This mineral will dissolve in acid.  Its color comes from impurities.  It is soft and therefore not used as a gem.  This sample came from Mexico.

Orange Calcite
I found another website, Earth Sciences Museum, which listed it uses as:  Animal feed, Antacid - from calcium carbonate, Building construction, Chemical Industry,  Dough strengthener, Facing stone for building interiors/exteriors, Filter in baking powder, Glass industry, Manufacturing of Paper and the Paper Industry, Optical purposes, Photography, Statues, Waste treatment

Bearded Soft Red Winter Wheat

Bearded Soft Red Winter Wheat
Winter wheat (usually Triticum aestivum) are strains of wheat that are planted in the autumn to germinate and develop into young plants that remain in the vegetative phase during the winter and resume growth in early spring. Classification into spring or winter wheat is common and traditionally refers to the season during which the crop is grown. For winter wheat, the physiological stage of heading is delayed until the plant experiences vernalization, a period of 30 to 60 days of cold winter temperatures (0° to 5 °C).[1]
Wikipedia

I learned that the "heads" are called "ears."  It has whiskers.  It is also called Bread Wheat or Common Wheat.
