Geode-like Crystals

Geode-like Crystals
The scenario coming to my mind about this piece is that it flowed together while hot and cooled at the same time.  Small crystals, which this contains, means realatitively quick cooling.  This would have been a "chunky" ejection, an explosive ejecta.

Geode-like Crystals Setup
I used my Sigma 105 mm mounted on a full set of Kenko extension tubes and a Canon 500D closeup filter to photograph this.  This setup, by my calculations, provides 2.78 x on the sensor.
