Okra

Okra
Okra is flowering plant in the Mallow Family.  The green seed pods are edible
I'm trying to remember if I have tasted it.  I have a friend who grows it in his garden.  I never grew it.  AKA Abelmoschus esculentus, Ladies' fingers, ochro, igbo, gumbo, Quingombo, Vendakkai, Bendakkai and Bhindi.  It is grown Europe Africa, India, Asia, Middle East, and Central America in warm temperate and tropical regions.  It is related to cotton, cocoa, and hibiscus.  The products of it are mucilaginous or slimey.  I am hoping I get an invitation to try to eat it as it belongs to my neighbor Dave.

Okra
I think it could be annual in temperate regions and perennial in tropical regions.  Thanks to Wikipedia for this information.
