Mallard Female

This pair was on the pond the morning I arrived.  They had friends who immediately flew off.  The drake swam over to the edge on the south side.  Mean time I was moving to get between them and the sun.

She swam toward the center of the pond with him behind.  The female looked larger to me.  I soon found the limit of their comfortablity and they flew off together.  I did not look for the nest but I think that I could have found it if I tried.
