| Red Breasted Nuthatch Sculpture |
This sculpture was created by my brother-in-law, Don Davidson. He lives in Ellicott City, MD. He did it in 2003 and gave it to me as a gift. I have treasured it ever since. It was my introduction to nuthatches. I have seen them at Gorman Nature Center and the Ohio Bird Sanctuary but do not have any good shots. They exhibit the unique behavior of walking down the tree truck head first. I read that we are in their range so I will continue to look for this one.
Don brings gifts for his sisters when he comes to Ohio. They are usually little carvings of birds. Maybe Carol would let me photograph some of them.
