A log in the water.

A Log in the Water.
We have a little stream at Gorman Nature Center.  During the dry season it does stop running.  When we have heavy rains it becomes a raging torrent.  It washes out the foot bridges at those times.  This log is next to a foot bridge which was washed away from its position.  You can see that much sand was washed down by the last heavy rain.  The ripples on the bottom make a nice rhythm in the image.  The layers in the sand upon which the log is resting are also interesting.  The angle of the log indicates movement.  It might wash down stream with the next rain taking the foot bridge with it.

I like this image because it has a lot of movement.  It is another one with just three elements.  I think that makes is stronger.  I have another view of this log but I liked this one better.  I did think about wading out into the stream and shooting it from that angle.  I may still try to do that if it remains when I return.

I used a circular polarizing filter to cut or eliminate reflections from the sky on the water's surface.
