Sapphire is a precious gemstone whose formula is Al2O3, and is usually blue but not always.

Natural "fancy" sapphires also occur in yellow, purple, orange, and
green. It is a variety of the mineral corundum and is also, like
corundum, very hard, mohs scale 9. IT is the third hardest mineral in
the world behind diamond and moissanite.
