Question Mark Butterfly

Polygonia Interrogationis
The upper side of the wings is quite colorful and noticable.  It is a North American Nymphalid butterfly.  It lives in woodlands and open areas.  Wingspan can be 1.8" to 3".

Question Mark Butterfly
The name is derived from the silver colored shape on the bottom of the rear wings.  You can see it clearly in this shot.  It is a curved line and a dot resembling the punctuation mark by the same name.

On a personal note, Carol had an Ultra sound of her arms and legs, looking for blood clots and an Echo of her heart.  She will have a breathing eval in PM.

Thanks to Gorman Nature Center for the opportunity to capture these images.
