| Soybean Planting |
When in high school, I was anxious for school to end so that I could help Dad plant beans. I was especially excited this year when Keith Kisling invited me to watch him plant beans. That's Keith with the auger and shoot above his head. The occasion for my invitation was that he had a new planter, a 30' Kinze 3600. It plants ~ 24 rows at 15". It is way too wide to transport on the highway so it rises up and rotates 90° making it narrower than the tractor.

He fills the white hoppers on top with soybean seed, sprinkles on inoculent and he is off planting.

I love watching him work. Kyle is operating the planter in this picture.
You can look up this planter at YouTube . I saw a video of it being used in uncultivated corn stalks from the previous season. It really works. No-till is here to stay!

The caulters cut the opening into which the seed drops. These seeds did not get covered so I could photograph them.
