Serandite



Serandite
This mineral was discovered in Guinea in 1931 and named for J. M. Sèrand on Los Islands.  The sample above is from  De-mix Varennes Qy Vaennes Saint Amables Sill Quebec, Canada.  It's FOV is 7mm and 3.36x on the sensor.

The FOV above is 11.25mm and 2.09x on the sensor.  Its chemical formula is Na(Mn2+,Ca)2Si3O8(OH).  Thanks to Wikipedia for the information contained here.
