This sample comes to us from Globe Oregon, USA. The view size is 3.8mm and it is 6.6x on the sensor. Wikipedia states the the two minerals are visually indistinguishable. Testing would be required to identify each.

Optical calcite was used in bombsites during WW II.
Thomsonite is desirable to collectors and for jewelry.
