Caterpillar of Lophocampa Caryae

I found this creature on the sandbar willow.  It seemed inanimate, probably from the cool air over night.  It was damp with dew.

I went through my entire caterpillar book and did not find it so I submitted it to bugguide.net.

The answer seems to be that it is Lophocampa caryae "missing its black fore and aft lashes"  Thanks to  jim sogaard.

 I did not know there could be one missing the black lashes so I did not find it.
