 I get to see these plants up close while I look to photograph dragon and damsel flies.  I learned there is a bee which comes just for this plant, the Dufourea novaeangliae.

I have become captivated by the leaf's unique shape.

It is an aquatic plant coming back each year from the root in the mud.  I saw a plant just yesterday with a similarly shaped leaf, though small.  Its blooms were entirely different.  I hope to share it with you soon.
