Monarch Caterpillar

This is only the second such caterpillar I have seen this season.  I may have seen a Monarch Butterfly but was not close enough to distinguish it from a Viceroy.

This one was on the Swamp Milkweed. 

Monarch Caterpillar Faeces

It is easy to notice if a host plant has a caterpillar.  The faeces collect on the leaves under where the caterpillar is feeding.
