Tuperssuatsiaite

Tuperssuatsiaite
This sample comes from Aris Phonolite, Windhoek, Namibia.  It is recessed as is characteristic of tuperssuatsiaite from that region.  It is also found in Greenland where it was first discovered and identified in 1984 in the rocks bordering Tuperssuatsiat Bay, Tunulliarfik Fjord (Tunugdliarfik), Ilímaussaq complex, Narsaq, Kujalleq, Greenland.  FOV, field of view, here is 9/64".

My eighth grade English teacher taught me that I must make a word mine by learning to spell it which I can do.  I have about learned to pronounce it without seeing it in print.  It is at the bottom of the page.  I have, of course, used it in a sentence here.

Tuperssuatsiaite, FOV 50/64"
The chemical formula for tuperssuatsiaite is:  Na2(Fe3+,Mn2+)3Si8O20(OH)2 · 4H2O.  The other major region in which it is found is Brazil.
