Ladybug

Nine-spotted Ladybug Beatle
I am pretty sure this is a young one.  The name Lady"bug" is really a misnomer since it is a beetle.  Wikipedia states that a more correct name would be:  spotted pink ladybeetle.

I have known houses where ladybugs congregated in the fall.  The windows would be full of them.  They can be quite a nuisance.  One must sweep them up daily.

I read that they are a predator for aphids which makes them a desirable addition to the garden for aphid control.  They are sold commercially for this purpose.
