Silver-spotted Skipper |
This butterfly is common in our area. I read that it has one brood per year in the mid-west. The female lays one egg on a caterpillar host plant. The egg hatches into a caterpillar and eventually forms into a chrysalis in which form it overwinters. I would like to look for legume plants, hosts, to find a chrysalis.
