Independance Day

Republic P-47D (Razorback Version)

The P-47 was a WWII pursuit plane.  I know that WWII was not the official war for independence.  It was a war for independence from dictators and their belief systems.

The P-47, according to the fact sheet from NMUSAF, was originally intended to be a light weight fighter.  It ended up the biggest, heaviest and strongest of the fighters, first flying into combat in  Western Europe in April 1943.  It acquitted itself well in combat with the exception of range being too short to accompany the bombers on their missions into Germany.

This image is my most recent one of this plane.  It has one drawback.  It is supposed to be of the razorback version and you cannot confirm that by looking at it.  It must be displayed with a previously made image.....

Dare I say, "Happy Independence Day everyone?"  None of us wants war but if we must fight, let it be for freedom.
