GNC Bridge 9

GNC Bridge 9
This bridge became a part of my winter walking route last season.  It seems a little frightening as I come to the stairs and start down their snow covered surface.

GNC Bridge 9
I wanted to show that feeling but so far have been unsuccessful.  I have been able, however; to show the bridge.

GNC Bridge 9
I suppose I could say that it is the most interesting of the bridges.

Gavin

Gavin
Gavin was my assistant on the day we photographed bridge 8 and attempted 9.  He came to see Grandma and enjoyed the walk with me.  He pulled my wagon for me.  I think that he gets tired of waiting on me.  I am slow.

GNC Bridge 8

GNC Bridge 8
By the time you read this the leaves will be blocking the view from afar.  This is the first "new" bridge built since Jason came.

GNC Bridge 8
It is way back on the right as you walk along the stream.

GNC Bridge 8
It is a great bridge and we are proud of it.

GNC Bridge 8
We brought in the quad copter for the above picture.  We could not pick up as many satellites because of the trees and flying was tougher.

Waiting Patiently

Mallard Drake
I must consciously try not to do too much photography as I wait.  I get way too many of the following.

Mallard Drake With Swallow
I still get a few interesting ones, though.

Red-winged Blackbird
I used the time for target practice.  I practice spotting and following flying birds.

When I get better at it, I will share.

Pond Sidelights

Painted Turtle
"Sidelights" are the things I see while waiting patiently for action.

Koi Breeding
I think of the person who introduced these fish into our pond as a "dark actor."  They are not indigenous and we wish them gone!

The Koi are planning to inundate our pond with their offspring.

Canada Geese

Canada Goose
For me, they are the four engine heavies of the bird world.  Here is how it happened.

Canada Geese

At first they were "horsing" around on the float.

They then decided to take a swim.

Canada Geese
I can tell when they about to launch because they make so much noise.

I, again, found that 300 mm worked will.

More Flight

Mallard Drake
He rested on the float and I waited.  He finally decided to fly and I was ready.

Mallard Drake
I have decided that shooting flying birds at short range needs to be done at 300 mm, at least by me.

Mallard Drake
He had known I was waiting and he enjoyed making me do so.

Mallard Drake

For me, it was well worth the wait.  How beautiful he was as he flew by!
