Woolgrass

Woolgrass Inflorescence
The shape of this sedge inflorescence is iconic much as that of the Cattail.  You know it irregardless of its color

Rattlesnake Master

Rattlesnake Master
The Rattlesnake Master seed heads have long captivated my interest.  I have liked them as a silhouette using the sun but this one uses flash.

Little Bluestem

Little Bluestem
This started out as a project to show "seeds that fly in early November."  I am afraid that I ended up with more shots than I initially expected.

Little Bluestem
I initially collected this in the hayfield below Carrie, Andrew and Terry's Cabin.  I have thought it a beautiful plant for a long time and was surprised to find it in the field.

Little Bluestem
In the meadow, it turns an Indian red in late fall light.
