Thin Ice Series

This is another of my "Thin Ice" series.  In this one, the pond had melted the previous day and refrozen over night.  The ice froze to the stem in the center.  The water receded forming an air bubble surrounding the stem.  It made an interesting shape.  I was enthralled with the concentric "circles" formed.

Probably Flint and Quartz

Flint and Quartz
This is a rock that I bought from the Laurers.  I selected it to photograph because I thought it interesting.  When I began the photography, I noticed how interesting it was on all sides.  I photographed all sides and wondered how I might display it.  I am trying the following composite.  They are all the same rock.

I had several shots that turned out flat on the bottom because I did not plan ahead.  They are on the bottom.  I decided to balance the others on top  The one on the left is solid.  The one on the right is unbalanced and should fall to the right.  I left room for it to fall.  What do you think?

Another of Don's Carvings

Hummingbird Carving

This is another of Carol's Brother, Don's, carvings.  It was fastened to a business card, see below.

I am beginning to wonder if he and his wife Mary opened a little shop in Ellicot City.  I could not find the shop on line and no one answered the number listed.  He did not date this carving so I have no idea when he made it.

Next time I see him, I will have quite a few questions for him.
