Signs of spring!

Male Red-winged Blackbird

I noticed the sound of the Red-winged Blackbird before I saw the bird.  I had not been to Gorman for three or four days.  They are back and, I found later, have been for three or four days.  They stake out their territory, the males, at this time of year.  The top of the post by the pond is where this male surveys his domain.

Turkey Vulture

The Turkey Vultures are on their way to Hinkley, OH.  They supposedly arrive on March 15, the Ides of March.  I am guessing that they may be early this year.  That could be an encouraging sign if you are wishing for spring.

Young White-tailed Deer

I think that this is one of the possibly 3 which were born last season.  If so, I probably have photographed it before.  It was good to see him/her even though it does not seem that it says that spring is coming.  I felt encouraged anyway!
