DJI Phantom 3 Pro

DJI Phantom 3 Pro
I have owned this device almost two years.  I always considered it a flying camera.  I enjoyed owning it but it has become too difficult for me to fly and so I'm selling it.  It has a lighting kit installed, including headlight.  I have flown it at night, dusk, with this and it worked well.  I could see it a long way off.

DJI Phantom 3 Pro Transmitter
It comes with the remote controller which holds a smart phone or iPad.  I am not selling my iPad.  My iPad is connected to Verizon network which provided GPS info.  You could probably use any network.

DJI Phantom 3 Pro Transmitter
DJI,com provides very good, essential training for its use.  I highly recommend that you avail yourself of it.  It is technically demanding.  It requires more cognition than I have now.

Accessory s
Left to Right:  charger for the transmitter OR the flight battery, hex wrench, propeller wrench, extra flight battery, extra propellers, string and screws for propeller guards, extra gimbal mounts.

After Market Extras
Left to Right:  Three Battery charger, neck strap for transmitter, a third battery, lens hood, extra propeller guards, Hood for iPad.

If you are interested my e-mail is larry@larrysimages.com.  I check my e-mail once daily so be patient.  I am selling it because I can no longer operate it.  I had cataract surgery last fall and my vision is not what it used to be.  I had lots of fun with it.  I learned that my computer will do only 1920x1080p video.  It is expensive to get a new computer so I did not opt to do so.

Cuprite

I received a comment the other day from one of my viewers stating that she does not always know what she is seeing.  I am making an effort to address that need by my slight change of format.  Please note Facebookers:  You will see a link like this after the title of the blog:  http://ift.tt/2ovlRD5  It is a bitly link to the actual blog on which you will see more images of subject.  The above link does not lead to this blog.
Cuprite
This small sample is from Morenci, Arizona.  It is about 1/4" wide.

Cuprite is a minor ore of copper.  The crystals have many faces and according to Wikipedia there is also internal reflection.  The reflections are not too much of a problem at this size but the problem intensifies as the view moves in.

Cuprite
As the view moves in the camera metering does not keep up and the faces become over exposed.  The camera and the Photoshop histogram do not show the blown out pixels.  I found that they are blown out when I tried to burn them to bring the exposure down on the overexposed faces.  Burning does not work because there are no pixels there to burn.

Cuprite
This is my best shot of the sample at FOV 10/64".  There are still a couple faces blown out in this.  I have gravitated toward underexposure of the shot at least  a negative 1.5 stops.  This gets the faces exposed under control and I can add fill light in Camera Raw to the raw files.

Daffodils

Daffodils
I've been seeing daffodils everywhere I go.  It is a wonderful time of year when they come out.  I think I saw my first ones about three weeks ago.

Daffodils
The daffodils by our front door have become fewer over the years.  We are impatient with them after the blooms go away.  We can't wait until they feed the bulbs for next year so only the strongest come back again.  This year, I think we have one.

Tuperssuatsiaite

I found another sample of this interesting mineral in my last shipment from Don Smoley's Min. & Gems. 519 Sequoia Dr. Pittsburgh, Penna. 15236.  This is a much better sample and I have learned from photographing it.

Tuperssuatsiaite
This sample comes from Windhoek, Namibia.

Tuperssuatsiaite
It presents a beautiful "landscape."

Tuperssuatsiaite
The "cave" adds some mystery.

I have been visiting mindat.org to learn technique for making these images.  It is a great place and needs contributions to carry on its job.

Tuperssuatsiaite
Mindat told me that the ideal camera resolution is 12 megapixels.  I was using an 18 megapixel camera which caused me much grief and dissatisfaction.  At the time of this writing, I have not discovered the extent of how close I can get with the 12 megapixel camera.
