Woolly Bear

Woolly Bear
This little friend was walking the same trail with me the other day.  I put him/her on my wagon and continued on.  I came to my resting place and sat down.  After a short rest, I thought that I would photograph him/her.

Woolly Bear
I have known this little caterpillar since childhood as have many of you.  I came to think of the Woolly Bear as more than a furry toy as I have become aware of the life cycle of insects.

Woolly Bear
I looked up its moth but have no images of it.

Woolly Bear

Sometimes he/she stretches out quite a lot.

Conversation with Keith Kisling

I wanted you to meet Keith so we made this video.  All I can do is compare what I see now with what I remember about my father's farm where I grew up.  If you had contact with a farm in a previous life, you might find this interesting.

A Conversation with Keith Kisling
We rode in the Combine during this conversation.  This video is much more effective in 1080p.

Keith Kisling

Keith changed his radio to music for me.  He had the air-conditioning running.  The cab was dustless and comfortable.

Offloading "On The Run"
I said that Dad could not do this but as I have thought about it, I think it was possible but would require two men to ride on the combine without any safety holds.

Shelled Corn Harvest

"Shelled Corn Harvest" the Video
This video includes these images and many more.

Shelled Corn Harvest
Keith runs each day until the dryer feed bin is filled.  Then he must wait until it catches up.

Offloading Corn "On The Run"
It has been enlightening to me to watch the process.  I left the farm at age 18 for college.  I lost contact for all intents and purposes at that time.  Things have changed quite a lot since then.

White Oak

White Oak
I'll keep you posted on the changing colors on this tree.  I am working on a video but is probably a couple weeks off.

White Oak
I like to get there at sunrise for obvious reasons.

The tree is 70 ft. tall.
