Kisling Tree

Kisling Tree
I noticed this tree over the past years.  "Which one," you ask?  It is the one at the tip of the second point.  I keep asking myself, "Why do I notice it?"  I think there is one primary factor.  The rhythm of the points draws my eye.

Kisling Tree
I now think it to be a Walnut Tree.  I have approached it closely enough to see walnuts on it.  I am looking forward to walking or driving to it when the crop of off.

Eastern Forktail Young Female

Eastern Forktail Young Female
I was unsure about this one as it did not fall into any one ID.  I have looked into it again and have decided that it is probably the Eastern Fortail, young female.

Eastern Forktail Young Female
This is the same individual.

Early Fall Folage in Southwestern Richland County

Maple Tree
This section of this tree always changes color "early."  I wonder if the limb is damaged slightly.

Trail Color
Would you like to walk down this trail?  I would and did.

GNC Fall Color
Jason gave me a lift with my drone in the Gator so that I could capture this image.  Thanks, Jason.

Northern Broken-dash Skipper

Northern Broken-dash Skipper
I just read that the caterpillar of this butterfly feeds on various panicum grasses.  Switchgrass, of which we have a sizable population, is a panicum.  It is a medium small butterfly.  Glad I saw it!
