DJI Phantom 3 Pro

DJI Phantom 3 Pro
The Phantom 3 provides a very stable platform for photography.  I learned to fly with a child's toy first.  I was glad for the flying background but would say that it might not be essential.

My first outdoor flight yielded this image looking south over my house.

I bought it from Amazon.com.  I have long wished that Amazon would provide more information about items they sell.  I think they expect buyers to review their purchases to provide that info.  I intend to do that soon.

View From Tree
I am afraid that I did not read enough about the Phantom 3 before buying.  It turned out that the DJI Pilot app was not compatible with my Samsung Galaxy S4 phone.  Not knowing that caused the above image to be captured.  It landed in a tree and it was difficult to find.  My Brother in Law, Marty Breitinger climbed the tree for me.  Thanks Marty.

Quad-copter Photography

Gorman Nature Vistor's Center
I have recently added areal photography to my repertoire.  I had wanted to do so for several years and took the plunge.

Gorman Nature Vistor's Center
I have long wished for the areal perspective as an option.  It eliminates the sky and associated lighting problems.

I can even photograph myself from above,

Canada Lily

Canada Lily
A friend recently reminded me that the Canada Lily was in bloom.  I know of only one at Gorman Nature Center.  It was ensconced a dead sticker bush making it difficult to photograph.

I was able to capture some acceptable shots.

We had a cloudy day providing suitable light.
