New Unknown Growths

Slime Mold
I faintly remember mistaking this for a fungus at some time earlier time in my life.  If I can find solace in the this mistake, it would be because it takes many different shapes and forms.  Obviously, it is mold not fungus.

Nameless Growth
This is what attracted my eye to turn aside the day I found the crown coral mushroom.  It was on the other end of the same log.  It was after a heavy rain the previous night.  The rotten wood was literally sopping wet.  I fear that this is not a mushroom and consequently I do not plan to submit it.  I could not find anything like it in my field guide.

Crown Coral

Crown Coral
I stumbled, not literally, upon this one the other day.  I am 95% sure of my ID on it.  Lucus and Loudon found one in the woods beside their house too.  It has apparently moved from Genus: Clavicorona to Genus:  Artomyces since 1947 when it was identified.

Crayfish Trail Walker

Crayfish
This little guy passed me on the trail the other morning.  I remembered as I passed that I had my light cube/tent with me.  I backup and did my setup placing the cube on my cart so that I could sit beside it.

Crayfish
He, of course, was frightened and tried to protect himself even though I did not intentionally hurt him.

Crayfish
He would try to crawl off and hide.  When I put him back into view, I put him on his back giving me more time to shoot.

Alsike Clover Conclusion

Alsike Clover
I have been working on this clover for several weeks.  I thought that three blooms was the way to go on this.  I used my 30" light cube/tent.  Because of its use, the plant was not injured for this image, always a plus.
