The sound of the stream features.

Stream Feature -2, Bridge 3
I shot the stream features on one day,  and came home and worked on them.  I did not turn out any video after that shoot but I had an idea for the next shoot, which I discuss in the video below.

Stream Feature -1, Bridge 3
I had my camera set up for shooting wildlife when I made this shot.  I really liked the water movement stopped by the fast shutter.

Stream Feature -2, Bridge 2
I recorded the sounds of the various stream features with the video.  I than made additional recordings with a small recorder that I carry.  I later laid those recordings over the original recordings where I zoomed in as I did in this picture.  I liked the effect.

I then worked on the video for two days.  I have to go though each one and trim out the parts I don't want to use.  I then must organize them, add the voice over and sound over.  I hope you will look at my latest video.  It is titled Stream Feature -1 and -2, Bridge 2.

Red-shouldered Hawk

Red-shouldered Hawk
This hawk was watching the vernal pool near the highway.  A male Mallard Duck was swimming on the pool.  I tend to think that it was looking for frogs not the duck.  The Audubon Field Guide says that it inhabits lowland areas of which this is one.  I might have wished for just a little more light on the head but it was an unusual opportunity for me to shoot it.

Red-shouldered Hawk
Of course, my movement to try to improve the view, eventually caused it to fly.  It remained in the area just circling over head for a while.  It might be hunting to feed the young by this time in the season.  I don't know where its nest is located.

Musical Water and Empty Nest

Stream Feature bridge 4

This one really stood out to my ears!  It was loud and had a wide range of voices.  I fear that my recordings did not do it justice.  The sounds of the stream features change almost momentarily.  Water level, weather, and creek bed effect them.  There must also be someone to listen.  I hope you do.

Empty nest
The eggs are gone!  So are the geese.  I don't know what happened to them.  There are no broken egg shells as you can see.  I had some difficulty even finding where the nest was located.  It is almost like they were were never there.  I am disappointed.  I had hoped to photograph the goslings.

More spring action!

Eastern Bluebird

The "little" birds are sitting everywhere.  I love to listen to them.

American Goldfinch
It seems that I can get closer to them at this time of year.  The reason may be that they are concentrating on their calls and listening for answers.  Listen to the American Goldfinch.

Tree Swallows mating

These two tree swallows were totally oblivious to the third one on the box.  Who says that sex is not a spectator sport?

Tree Swallows

Blue Jay

I have previously been unable to catch Blue Jay sounds.  I have found them easier to catch in the spring.

Listen to the Blue Jay Sounds.
